Tim Ellis developed an end-to-end analytics platform for the CMSgov/ab2d-bcda-dpc-platform repository, enabling QuickSight dashboards through an Athena-based data pipeline. He architected the solution using AWS services such as Kinesis Firehose for data ingestion, Glue for data cataloging, and automated Terraform deployments via GitHub Actions. Tim also addressed infrastructure hygiene by fixing Terraform and Athena references to ensure correct S3 bucket and KMS key usage, and improved security in the CMSgov/beneficiary-fhir-data repository by removing a deprecated test certificate. His work leveraged Python, SQL, and Terraform, resulting in faster analytics, stronger data governance, and a cleaner security posture.
