During November 2025, Richard focused on backend development for the richard67/joomla-cms repository, addressing a critical bug in the package integrity verification process. He improved the XML SHA verification by refining how whitespace in remote hash data is handled, ensuring accurate comparison with the computed hash from the package file. This PHP-based solution reduced deployment failures and enhanced the security of the Joomla CMS release process. Although no new features were introduced, Richard’s work demonstrated a strong understanding of backend systems and attention to detail, contributing to the stability and reliability of the 5.4 release track for Joomla CMS.
