During two months on the block/goose repository, Taylor Longwell developed core backend features and improved system reliability using Rust, TypeScript, and CI/CD practices. Taylor built dynamic task extension filtering and session-scoped to-do management, enabling modular extension loading and per-session task workflows. The work included normalization-based extension loading, integration testing, and performance optimizations to streamline extension management. Taylor also engineered an Agent Manager with session isolation, migrated server logic to session-specific agents, and enhanced testing infrastructure. Code quality was raised through targeted refactoring, documentation updates, and repository hygiene, resulting in a more maintainable, robust backend architecture supporting future extensibility.

September 2025 performance: Delivered a robust Agent Manager with session isolation, migration to per-session agents, and improved lifecycle handling; completed server-side migration to session-specific agents; enhanced testing, CI, and documentation to raise reliability and developer velocity; introduced OpenAPI scaffolding for API clients; and executed code quality improvements to support maintainability.

August 2025: Two core features shipped in block/goose, delivering modular, high-value capabilities: Dynamic Task Extension Filtering and To-Do/Session-Scoped Todo Management. Implemented normalization-based extension loading with outputs and integration tests, plus performance optimizations for extension loading. Introduced session-scoped TODOs and a To-Do extension to streamline per-session task workflows. While there were no explicit critical bugs fixed this month, stability and maintainability were improved through test coverage, code smell reductions, and targeted cleanup. Business impact includes faster extension loading, more reliable per-session task management, and a stronger foundation for future extensions.
