During December 2024, Tom Merty focused on refining the user interface of the TypeCellOS/BlockNote repository by addressing a styling inconsistency in the suggestion menus, specifically the slash menu and emoji picker. Using CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, Tom implemented a targeted bug fix in App.tsx that standardized class naming and spacing, improving visual coherence without altering existing functionality. The changes were carefully scoped to minimize risk, affecting only the relevant UI components and leaving backend logic untouched. This work demonstrated attention to detail in front end and component development, resulting in a more polished and consistent user experience for suggestion menus.
