January 2026 — ModelContextProtocol: Delivered browser-based MCP Tools client (MCPBundles) integrated into the MCP client ecosystem. This release introduces Bundle Studio, a browser-based MCP client enabling testing and executing MCP tools with built-in AI assistance, improving user onboarding, security, and interaction. The work focused on delivering a secure, interactive, AI-assisted workflow with real-time results and OAuth/API key authentication support, aligning with broader MCP Apps (SEP-1865) and streamable HTTP transport.

In November 2025, delivered two major features on the modelcontextprotocol/servers repository: Agent Interviews, an AI-driven qualitative research platform, and MCP Bundles Hub, a discovery and management platform for 500+ MCP provider integrations. These components expand community server capabilities by enabling in-platform qualitative research and streamlined integration governance, unlocking faster research cycles and easier provider onboarding for customers. The work was tracked in commit 816bec4e1270426dbd289d5c70cbf94f70a4e4e2 with the note to move to the Community Servers section per reviewer feedback, reflecting alignment with project structure. No major bugs were reported this month; focus was on delivering the new capabilities and setting the stage for future enhancements.
