Worked on stabilizing WebActions marshalling for suspend APIs in the cashapp/misk repository, focusing on backend development with Kotlin. Addressed a marshalling issue for suspend WebActions returning Response<ResponseBody> by enhancing the Marshaller to correctly unwrap WildcardType and handle Kotlin reflection for response types. Delivered a targeted bug fix that prevented startup-time errors and reduced runtime crashes related to null responses. Added integration tests to mirror existing JsonResponseTest coverage, validating end-to-end behavior for suspend functions. This work improved reliability and developer confidence in the suspend API surface, while expanding test coverage and ensuring robust handling of generic return types.
