During December 2024, Tom Kim developed a Travel Path Analysis Data Processing module for the KU-BIG/KUBIG_2024_FALL repository, focusing on foundational data engineering for travel analytics. He designed and implemented a Python-based pipeline using Pandas and SQL to load and process CSV data containing consumer activity and GPS coordinates. The module filtered records to Gurye County and Gangneung City, structuring the output for seamless integration with data visualization tools such as Folium. This work established a modular, extensible codebase that enables regional travel insights and supports future dashboard development, demonstrating depth in geospatial data handling and preparation for downstream analysis.
