Worked on the sartography/spiff-arena repository to enhance backend reliability by addressing database initialization issues specific to SQLite environments. Focused on backend development and database management, the work involved updating the recreate_db script using Shell to ensure that only SQLite-relevant attributes were applied during initialization. This targeted fix reduced environment-specific misconfigurations and deployment-time errors by explicitly filtering database attributes based on the database type. The approach improved maintainability and cross-database correctness, resulting in fewer runtime failures and a smoother onboarding process for developers. The changes contributed to more predictable deployments and a more robust database setup across different environments.
