During May 2025, Rapunzel expanded the coverage of Mexican place names in the osmlab/name-suggestion-index repository, focusing on data augmentation to enhance search relevance for Mexican geography. They curated and integrated a substantial dataset, applying data management and geographic information systems skills to ensure high data quality and broad coverage. The work involved efficient use of JavaScript and a git-based workflow to contribute open data, with careful attention to repository standards. By improving the accuracy and completeness of the name suggestion index, Rapunzel addressed user needs for better geographic search, delivering a focused and well-executed feature without introducing new bugs.
