Tian Zhao contributed to the Snapchat/GiGL repository by delivering two targeted features over a two-month period, focusing on both documentation and cloud infrastructure. In April, Tian enhanced developer onboarding and maintainability by updating the project’s Markdown-based documentation, adding new system figures and workflow diagrams to clarify architectural concepts and integration points. In June, Tian implemented development VM reservation support using Python scripting and Google Cloud Platform, enabling new VMs to be associated with cloud reservations for improved resource planning and cost management. The work demonstrated depth in both technical communication and infrastructure automation, though no bug fixes were reported during this period.
