
During December 2025, Uaimedna developed Polish language stemming support for Apache Lucene by introducing the PolishSnowballAnalyzer and upgrading the Snowball stemming library. Working in Java, they enhanced Lucene’s text processing capabilities to better analyze and index Polish-language content, broadening the platform’s language coverage. Their contributions included updates to the build process, documentation, and license checks, ensuring maintainability and compliance. Minor tuning of CI checks improved reliability without introducing regressions. This work addressed the need for improved search relevance for Polish content, demonstrating depth in open source contribution, software development, and language-specific text analysis within a large-scale Java codebase.
