Worked on enhancing the Azure/azure-cosmos-dotnet-v3 repository by delivering targeted improvements to the Azure Cosmos DB .NET SDK, specifically focusing on address resolution and quorum decision logic within the Direct package. Leveraged C# and backend development skills to upgrade Microsoft.Azure.Cosmos.Direct to version 3.42.4, introducing a per-service TargetReplicaSetSize flow from gateway to SDK and enabling per-partition replica set size propagation. These changes, controlled by a configurable account-level flag, allow the SDK to make more informed quorum decisions during partition scaling, supporting more reliable failover and scalability while minimizing risk through feature gating and collaborative development practices.
