Worked on stabilizing the termux/termux-packages repository by upgrading the Opus codec from version 1.5.2 to 1.6.1, addressing a core dependency to improve encoding and decoding reliability across platforms. Focused on package management and shell scripting to ensure the upgrade maintained ABI and API compatibility, minimizing disruption for downstream packages. Validated the new version across supported architectures, which enhanced build and test stability for the package set. The work reduced maintenance costs and bug reports by aligning with upstream improvements, while clear commit messaging and versioning supported traceability and release readiness for ongoing development within the repository’s workflow.
