Worked on the tempesta-tech/tempesta repository to enhance the reliability of TLS connection management using C and network security principles. Addressed a critical issue in TLS shutdown by correcting the handling of close_notify alerts, ensuring compliance with RFC-5246 for graceful connection termination. Improved code maintainability by cleaning up conditional logic in the tls.c module, making the codebase more readable and easier to audit. Focused on targeted, low-risk changes that directly reduced the likelihood of TLS-related outages. The work demonstrated a strong understanding of network programming and secure protocol implementation, contributing to a more stable and maintainable TLS subsystem.
