The work focused on improving the adaptability and maintainability of the core networking components, ensuring future compatibility with evolving protocols. Leveraged Go for implementation, applying skills in network programming and protocol design to deliver a targeted feature that reduces technical debt and prepares the codebase for broader IP version support in routing operations.
