Worked on the FOSDEM/video repository to enhance hardware control and reliability in embedded systems. Focused on consolidating I2C bus scanning and register dumping by centralizing these functions within a dedicated commands module, streamlining command handling and reporting. Delivered a comprehensive set of improvements to the fan control system, including reorganizing constants, refining the control loop, and implementing zero-RPM handling to address edge cases. Adjusted PWM limits and improved spin-down timing to reduce startup overspeed risks and prevent stalling. All development was carried out in C, leveraging expertise in firmware development, control systems, and I2C communication for robust hardware integration.
