Vaishnavi Reddy Putluru developed granular AWS IAM roles and policies for the nationalarchives/ds-infrastructure-web repository, focusing on enhancing web infrastructure security and governance. Using Terraform and HCL, Vaishnavi designed service-specific permissions for frontend, search, reverse proxy, and Lambda deployments, implementing corresponding instance profiles and policy attachments to enforce least-privilege access. This approach established clearer boundaries between services and improved auditability, laying the foundation for more automated access control in future development cycles. The work demonstrated a strong understanding of AWS IAM and infrastructure-as-code principles, delivering a targeted feature that addressed security and compliance requirements without introducing new bugs.
