Worked on the open-telemetry/opentelemetry-java repository to enhance observability and log clarity for Span processing and GRPC export. Developed a feature in Java that introduces rate-limited warning logs when the BatchSpanProcessor drops spans due to a full queue, enabling more effective debugging and incident response. Additionally, removed redundant FINEST-level error logging in the GrpcExporter, which reduced log noise and improved code maintainability. Focused on backend development and unit testing to ensure that these changes did not introduce performance regressions. The work resulted in clearer telemetry, streamlined triage processes, and improved maintainability for the codebase.
