Worked on the skypilot-org/skypilot repository to enhance the reliability of Slurm-based task launches by addressing a critical environment configuration issue. Focused on preserving the SLURM_CONF and SLURM_CONF_SERVER environment variables when launching tasks with srun, which prevented DNS SRV discovery and configuration errors. Updated the slurm_codegen component and associated unit tests to ensure consistent behavior between code generation and driver scripts. Validated all changes using Python-based testing frameworks, maintaining code quality with linting and formatting tools. Demonstrated a methodical approach to back end development, emphasizing test-driven development, Python code generation, and robust integration with Slurm environments.
