Worked on stabilizing the Select component for Record-based items in the mui/base-ui repository, focusing on a targeted bug fix to improve placeholder rendering and null-key handling. Addressed issues where the placeholder and null key label precedence were not correctly managed, enhancing data integrity and user experience in form selections. Updated the hasNullItemLabel logic to accurately detect the presence of a null key in Record items, ensuring reliable behavior across edge cases. Added comprehensive regression tests to verify placeholder and key handling. Utilized React and TypeScript for front end development, contributing to more robust and maintainable UI components in production.
