Worked on the microsoft/vscode repository to enhance the activation fidelity and performance of chat context features within the VSCode extension ecosystem. Developed an activationEventsGenerator for the chatContext extension point, enabling on-demand activation of chat context providers and aligning activation strategies with established patterns such as chatParticipants. Addressed an issue where onChatContextProvider activation events were not triggering extensions when their providers were requested, ensuring timely activation and correct dependency resolution. Delivered these improvements in a single, well-documented commit using TypeScript and the VSCode API, resulting in reduced startup latency and more reliable workflows for chat-context-enabled extensions without introducing new bugs.
