Worked on the plone/volto repository, focusing on improving type safety within the Settings UI. Addressed a critical issue by refining the typings for contentIcons and controlPanelsIcons in the SettingsConfig, ensuring that string SVG identifiers are used instead of React components. This adjustment aligned the codebase with actual SVG usage, reducing the risk of runtime and UI mismatches. The work enhanced maintainability and set a foundation for future improvements in icon configuration. Utilized TypeScript and frontend development skills to deliver a targeted bug fix, contributing to a more stable and consistent user experience in the Volto project’s settings interface.
