Developed a configurable credential rotation backoff feature for the aws/amazon-ssm-agent repository, focusing on enhancing the flexibility and reliability of credential refresh processes. Leveraged Go for backend development, implementing a configuration-driven approach that allows administrators to set maximum backoff intervals for credential rotation. This solution maintained backward compatibility with existing workflows while enabling adaptation to diverse deployment environments. The work emphasized clear commit traceability and robust API development practices, ensuring that the new feature could be rolled out safely via policy changes. No major bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts concentrated on delivering this targeted functionality.
