Worked on the Layr-Labs/sidecar repository to deliver security and observability improvements for the Datadog integration. Addressed a hostPath injection vulnerability by transitioning APM communication from a Unix socket to TCP, reducing production risk and aligning with security best practices. Enhanced operational visibility by enabling StatsD metrics collection, supporting better incident response and capacity planning. The work focused on configuration management and monitoring, leveraging YAML for precise configuration changes. All enhancements were implemented and validated through targeted commits, ensuring clear traceability. This effort strengthened both the security posture and observability of the Datadog sidecar within the deployment environment.
