During April 2025, Vudupa focused on optimizing the OpenSSL test suite installation process within the zephyrproject-rtos/poky repository. By refactoring the build system and package management scripts, Vudupa enabled the reuse of already-installed libraries and introduced selective installation from the build tree. This approach reduced the size of the openssl-dbg package and improved both build and continuous integration efficiency. Working primarily with Perl and Shell scripting, Vudupa maintained compatibility with existing test environments while simplifying the installation path. The work delivered measurable improvements in image footprint, runtime, and maintainability, reflecting a thoughtful and targeted engineering contribution over the month.
