Worked on enhancing SQLGlot’s PostgreSQL dialect by implementing support for the PostGIS 3D distance operator, enabling advanced 3D spatial queries. Developed a new Distance3d class in Python and updated both the SQL generator and parser to recognize and process the <<->> operator. Introduced a dedicated token type to ensure accurate parsing and added comprehensive tests to validate the new functionality and prevent regressions. Focused on maintaining code quality through formatting improvements and refactoring. Leveraged skills in PostGIS, SQL, and testing to deliver feature parity and reliability, contributing to the robustness and extensibility of the SQLGlot codebase.
