Worked on the keycloak/keycloak repository to enhance reliability for PostgreSQL database connectivity by addressing a critical socket timeout issue. Focused on backend development using Java and SQL, the work involved implementing socket read timeouts and introducing an interceptor to manage connection timeouts, effectively preventing hanging database connections. This solution reduced the risk of idle or stranded connections and improved runtime stability for PostgreSQL-backed deployments. The changes were thoroughly reviewed and documented, ensuring that new timeout handling behaviors were clearly communicated.
