Valentijn Sessink delivered cross-platform Dutch localization for the OsmAnd and OsmAnd-iOS repositories, focusing on expanding language coverage and accessibility for Dutch-speaking users. Using Swift and XML, Valentijn implemented a Weblate-driven workflow to synchronize translations, achieving 100% Dutch translation in OsmAnd and 84.9% coverage in OsmAnd-iOS, including updates to altitude metrics descriptions. This approach centralized translation management, reducing ongoing localization maintenance costs and improving user experience. The work demonstrated depth in both iOS development and localization, addressing the challenge of consistent language support across platforms while ensuring that updates remained manageable and scalable for future releases.
