In January 2025, Smulumas worked on the openstack-k8s-operators/telemetry-operator repository, focusing on refactoring the Tempest test configuration to enhance clarity and maintainability in the telemetry pipeline. By simplifying and renaming configuration variable names for autoscaling tests, Smulumas improved the readability and reusability of YAML-based test setups. The changes leveraged CI/CD and configuration management skills to reduce configuration errors and streamline test automation. This targeted update enabled tempest_conf to be used for multiple variables, resulting in cleaner, more testable configurations that lower onboarding time for new contributors and decrease the risk of misconfigurations in automated test runs.
