During July 2025, Weinan Wang developed hot Disaster Recovery (hot_dr) cluster support for the apache/cloudberry repository, focusing on backend development and distributed systems using C. He implemented a configuration-driven approach that enables the system to read cluster information directly from a segment configuration file when hot_dr is enabled, rather than relying solely on catalog data. This adjustment improved disaster recovery readiness by allowing for higher availability and faster failover in the event of outages.
