Developed a robust cookie handling enhancement for the firecrawl/firecrawl repository, focusing on improving authenticated scraping reliability in the Playwright-based scraper. The work involved seeding cookies into the Playwright context jar to ensure session continuity across HTTP redirects, thereby reducing the need for repeated authentication and minimizing session failures. Leveraging TypeScript and full stack development skills, the developer also implemented targeted end-to-end tests to verify cookie forwarding during redirect hops, which increased test coverage and reliability. This feature addressed the challenge of maintaining authentication state during complex scraping workflows, resulting in more stable data collection pipelines and higher throughput for users.
