Over six months, contributed to pascalorg/editor by delivering core features and stability improvements for a 3D editor and viewer platform. Work included asset catalog refinement, plugin contract development, and a multi-page floorplan export system using TypeScript, React, and Three.js. Enhanced rendering pipelines with WebGPU, introduced PDF export via jsPDF, and standardized asset metadata for consistent data handling. Addressed complex geometry processing, improved navigation UX, and implemented automation for pull request reviews. The approach emphasized modular architecture, robust state management with Zustand, and performance optimization, resulting in a more reliable, maintainable, and collaborative environment for 3D content creation and review.
July 2026: Delivered high-impact editor features and stability improvements for pascalorg/editor, enabling faster content creation and more reliable pipelines. Key deliverables include: Plugin contract + first-party Nature pack assets; Editor snapping overhaul (shared-wall rooms, deterministic slab elevation, cursor-true transfers); Stage overlay slot and pro capture overlay for studio workflows; Photoshop-style multi-selection group manipulation; Rendering and lighting pass delivering sun-dominant look with sky backdrop. In addition, fixed critical export and viewer robustness issues to reduce iteration risk (unbreak bakes and STL/OBJ exports on malformed/placeholder meshes; survive block-misaligned KTX2 textures on WebGPU; capture-mode polish with pausable render loop; bug-pass addressing legacy crashes, floorplan navigation, and more). The month also laid groundwork for future asset management (project plugin management, dynamic materials registry) to strengthen the plugin ecosystem and material workflows.
