During February 2026, Ostra worked on the LMMS/lmms repository, focusing on enhancing the Piano Roll editor’s user interface. Using C++ and leveraging MIDI programming and UI development skills, Ostra implemented scroll-wheel volume adjustment with accurate UI state updates, allowing composers to modify note volumes more intuitively. The update also introduced a MIDI clip changed signal, which improved interface responsiveness by ensuring downstream components reacted promptly to edits. Additionally, Ostra addressed a Pattern Editor issue where UI updates lagged during volume adjustments, resulting in more stable editing behavior. The work demonstrated a focused approach to improving real-time feedback and workflow efficiency.
