Over three months, contributed to the nebius/soperator and nebius-solutions-library repositories by building automation-enhanced backup systems, dynamic Slurm configuration management, and secure database connectivity. Leveraged Go, Kubernetes, and Terraform to implement turn-key backup deployment with automated retention policies, ConfigMap-driven Slurm configuration updates supporting topology plugins, and TLS/SSL support for external database connections in the Slurm accounting component. Enhanced deployment reliability by introducing reconciliation for database credential changes and improved maintainability through code correction and expanded test coverage. The work focused on reducing manual toil, strengthening security, and enabling scalable, cloud-native infrastructure management across diverse production environments.
June 2025 monthly summary for nebius/soperator: Implemented TLS/SSL configuration for external database connections in the Slurm accounting component, adding server CA certificates and client certificates/keys to enable secure connections. Also introduced deployment reconciliation for external database password updates to reduce drift and downtime during credential rotation. This work strengthens data-in-transit security and improves deployment reliability in production environments.
