Worked on enhancing Vite’s module runner by delivering a feature that improved base64 sourcemap decoding, specifically addressing the handling of non-ASCII characters. This update, implemented in the vitejs/vite repository, targeted a critical aspect of the build pipeline to ensure more reliable and compatible source mapping across diverse environments. Using TypeScript and focusing on module development and source map handling, the work reduced friction during debugging and simplified setup for developers. The approach emphasized robust decoding logic, resulting in smoother developer experiences and broader compatibility. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on this targeted feature enhancement.
