Worked on the palantir/sls-packaging repository to deliver support for optional dependencies within recommended product dependencies, enhancing flexibility for downstream teams. The implementation involved modifying Gradle build tool configurations and updating dependency management logic using Groovy and Java. To align with the new behavior, an outdated restriction on transitive recommended dependencies was removed, and related test cases were updated or eliminated as needed. Documentation was revised in Markdown to clearly describe the new optional dependencies support. The work focused on expanding packaging capabilities and simplifying maintenance, with no major bug fixes during the period, emphasizing thoughtful alignment between code, tests, and documentation.
