Worked on stabilizing the Rocprof Instrument within the ROCm/rocprofiler-systems repository, focusing on improving reliability and maintainability. Addressed a bug related to default linkage and visibility handling by refactoring the initialization process to use predefined default sets, ensuring consistent behavior. Enhanced the command-line argument parsing logic to accurately honor user-specified linkage and visibility flags, which increased the tool’s flexibility and reduced configuration errors. The work involved system programming and command-line interface development using C++, with an emphasis on build systems. These changes streamlined user workflows and reduced support overhead, contributing to a more robust instrumentation tool for ROCm users.
