Worked on enhancing observability for Flink workloads in the Yelp/paasta repository by improving the CLI status output. Developed a feature in Python that displays total pods and jobs in the Flink status, as well as reporting total replicas in replica states, supporting backend development and CLI tooling. This update enables teams to better monitor workload capacity and reduces mean time to recovery by providing clearer operational metrics. Focused on testing to ensure reliability and alignment with broader reliability goals, the work addressed a specific need for improved visibility into Flink deployments, contributing to more effective capacity planning and operational transparency.
