Worked on enhancing dataset acquisition reliability and code maintainability across the foxglove/mcap and liguodongiot/transformers repositories. Addressed a documentation issue in foxglove/mcap by updating the dataset download instructions to use the correct tar extraction flag, ensuring compressed archives are properly handled and reducing user errors. In liguodongiot/transformers, introduced type hints to import_utils.py, improving code readability and facilitating future maintenance. Leveraged Python, Shell scripting, and type hinting to deliver targeted improvements. The work focused on practical solutions that directly impacted user experience and maintainability, demonstrating attention to both immediate usability and long-term code quality within the projects.
