Worked on the NASA Cumulus Dashboard, focusing on enhancing the frontend search system using React, Redux, and JavaScript. Over two months, centralized and refactored the search execution logic to eliminate redundancy and improve maintainability, making the codebase clearer and easier to extend. Introduced a URL-driven search mechanism, consolidating dispatch logic and using query parameters as the single source of truth for triggering searches, which improved consistency and reduced unnecessary requests. Addressed UI robustness by adding null checks to prevent runtime errors. These changes streamlined state management, improved performance, and contributed to a more reliable and responsive user experience.
