Worked on the erlang/otp repository to enhance the stability and RFC compliance of DiameterURI handling within the Diameter protocol stack. Focused on backend development and protocol implementation using Erlang, the work addressed decoding crashes and encoding failures by introducing robust defaults for missing RFC fields, such as defaulting the port to 3868 and transport to TCP. These changes ensured reliable re-encoding of DiameterAVPs and improved interoperability with Diameter peers by aligning with RFC 6733 and 3588. All modifications were clearly documented, supporting code traceability and facilitating future RFC-driven enhancements while reducing support incidents related to network programming issues.
