Worked on the pimcore/generic-data-index-bundle repository to enhance document indexing reliability by addressing a bug related to custom field mappings. Focused on backend development using PHP, the work involved correcting the event class import path to ensure document-specific mapping extraction was properly referenced. This fix resolved an issue where custom field mappings could not be set, directly improving the accuracy and integrity of indexed documents with custom fields. By enabling the indexing service to handle custom mappings correctly, the changes contributed to more precise search results and better data consistency within the system, reflecting a targeted and effective engineering approach.
