Worked on the SOEN490-SportsApp/SportsApp repository to deliver a feature enhancing the social user experience by modifying access controls on the friend list endpoint. The approach involved removing the @PreAuthorize restriction from the getFriends API, allowing any authenticated user to view another user's friend list while still requiring authentication to maintain security. This change simplified permission checks and enabled faster iteration on social features without exposing data to unauthenticated users. The work was implemented using Java and Spring Boot, focusing on backend and API development. No bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature delivery and access control refinement.
