Wooseok Lee developed a temporary Shardy dialect roundtrip import pass for the tenstorrent/tt-xla repository, addressing the need for continued validation workflows in MLIR while native Shardy support is under development in OpenXLA. By converting Shardy dialect operations to StableHLO, Wooseok enabled a stopgap solution that preserves the Shardy workflow within the existing pipeline and reduces risk to release schedules. The work demonstrated practical application of compiler development and intermediate representation skills using C++ and MLIR, with clear documentation and code traceability to support future migration. This contribution provided a focused, well-scoped bridge for ongoing testing and validation.
