During December 2024, work centered on stabilizing CUDA build workflows for the kvcache-ai/Mooncake repository, with a focus on improving code quality and maintainability. The developer addressed a critical CUDA build error by standardizing std::string usage throughout the C++ codebase and implementing CUDA-specific error checks. Additionally, a GPU ID flag was introduced to facilitate future CUDA integration, aligning the codebase with best practices for GPU readiness. This effort reduced the risk of build failures related to CUDA and established a solid foundation for upcoming GPU-enabled features. The work demonstrated strong skills in bug fixing, build systems, and CUDA development.
