Worked on stabilizing Text Finder interactions within workspace actions in the zed-industries/zed repository, focusing on resolving a critical crash during modal dismissal. Addressed the issue by caching the WorkspaceId at modal creation, which prevented unsafe re-entrant reads and maintained a safe data path using Rust’s Option type. Enhanced reliability by adding regression tests to cover modal lifecycle scenarios, ensuring future changes would not reintroduce the bug. Validated the solution across platforms, including macOS, and confirmed stability through code reviews and local builds. Utilized skills in Rust, GPUI, and software testing to improve platform stability and user workflow reliability.
