Developed and delivered the Merge-Insert Statistics Reporting feature for the lancedb/lancedb repository, enabling users to retrieve detailed statistics on merge-insert operations. This work enhanced the execute() path to return counts of inserted, updated, and deleted rows, supporting improved observability and monitoring of mutation workloads. The implementation included adding bindings for programmatic access to merge statistics, facilitating integration with dashboards and alerting systems. Leveraging skills in Rust, TypeScript, and database operations, the feature was validated within existing data pipelines to strengthen data integrity checks and support operational decision-making, reflecting a focused and technically robust engineering contribution.
