Worked on the UNIkeEN/SJMCL repository to enhance the reliability of the download pipeline, focusing on backend development using Rust and JSON. Addressed a critical bug that caused panics during downloads when the content-length header was missing, implementing defensive programming techniques to ensure the system returned a default value instead of crashing. Improved progress reporting by clamping negative estimated times to zero, further reducing the risk of edge-case failures. The work emphasized incremental bug fixing and robust error handling, resulting in a more stable user experience and greater resilience under adverse network conditions, with clear commit-level traceability throughout the process.
