Worked on the NousResearch/hermes-agent repository to enhance plugin management reliability by addressing issues with Git executable resolution in minimal PATH environments. Focused on backend development and system administration, the solution involved expanding path discovery logic to locate the Git binary across Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring plugin installations succeed regardless of operating system constraints. By implementing robust OS fallbacks and checking common installation paths, the update reduced plugin installation failures and lowered support overhead. The work was carried out using Python and DevOps practices, contributing to smoother deployments and improved system stability without introducing new features during the period.
