Xoan Gonzalez focused on improving observability hygiene in the grafana/tempo repository by removing the deprecated TempoRequestLatency alert and its associated runbook documentation. This work targeted the reduction of stale alerts and outdated operational guidance, aligning with the broader deprecation strategy for the observability stack. Xoan used configuration management and alerting skills, working primarily with yaml and libsonnet to update and streamline the alerting configuration. By eliminating the deprecated alerting path and its documentation, Xoan reduced configuration drift and maintenance overhead. The changes contributed to a more maintainable and current observability setup, though the scope was limited to a single feature.
